Standing Dumbbell Fly: How to, Benefits, Safety, Variations
The Standing Dumbbell Fly is a strength training exercise that targets the chest muscles. It is performed with a pair of dumbbells. Here’s how to do it:
Stand with your feet shoulder-width apart and your knees slightly bent.
Hold a dumbbell in each hand, with your arms straight and the weights facing each other.
Keep your arms straight and slowly raise the weights out to the sides, until they are level with your shoulders.
Lower the weights back down to the starting position, keeping your arms straight.
Repeat for desired number of reps.
Make sure to keep your core engaged and avoid arching your back. Start with lighter weights and gradually increase the weight as you become stronger.
